The Illusion of Fear

“There is no greater illusion than fear,
no greater wrong than preparing to defend yourself,
no greater misfortune than having an enemy.

Whoever can see through all fear
will always be safe.”

Tao Te Ching verse 46

Translation by Stephen Mitchell

Freedom From Fear

By reciting the blessed name of Avalokiteshvara three times, we will be free from fear.  This practice works in all manner of situations, please use it as often as you like.           OM MANE PADME HUM

Within War, There is Peace

“One man believes he is the slayer, another believes he is the slain.  Both are ignorant; there is neither slayer nor slain.  You were never born; you will never die.  You have never changed; you can never change.  Unborn, eternal, immutable, immemorial, you do not die when the body dies.  Realizing that which is indestructible, eternal, unborn, and unchanging, how can you slay or cause another to slay?”

Bhagavad Gita

Chapter Two verse 19 through 21

The Path to Peace

“The Tao never does anything, yet through it all things are done.  If powerful men and women could center themselves in it, the whole world would be transformed, by itself, in its natural rhythms.  People would be content with their simple every day lives,  and harmony, and free of desire.  When there is no desire, all things are at peace.”

Tao te Ching verse 37

True Freedom

“If you wish to see the truth, then hold no opinions for or against anything. To set up what you like against what you dislike is the disease of the mind.”

Seek The Light of Consciousness

“You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.”

John 12:35-36 New International Version

The Mysterious Feminine

The spirit that never dies
Is called the mysterious feminine.
Although she becomes the whole universe,
Her immaculate purity is never lost.
Although she assumes countless forms,
Her true identity remains intact.

The gateway to the mysterious female
Is called the root of creation.

Listen to her voice,
Hear it echo through creation.
Without fail, she reveals her presence.
Without fail, she brings us to our own perfection.
Although it is invisible, it endures;
It will never end.

Tao te Ching verse 6
Translation by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

True Forgiveness

“Although living beings’ minds are filled with delusions, living beings themselves are not faulty.  We say that sea water is salty, but in fact it is the salt in the water that makes it salty, not the water itself.  The real taste of water is not salty.  Similarly, all the faults we see in people are actually the faults of their delusions, not of the people themselves.”

How to Save the World

“When we understand the true nature of things, we will see that our world is like a dream, and that everything exists as a mere appearance to mind. We will realize that we can change our world simply by changing our mind, and that if we wish to be free from suffering, all we need to do is purify our mind. Having purified our own mind, we will then be in a position to fulfill our compassionate wish by showing others how to do the same.”

Jesus’ View on War and Violence

“But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? Even pagans do that. But you are to be perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect.”
